Police reform plans due? No action (as of May 2021)
There hasn’t been much public discussion of police reform in New York state since 2020.
Plans from police agencies were due by April 1 per Gov. Cuomo. Michael Sisitzky, senior policy counsel at New York Civil Liberties Union, said it will take action from community members to actualize the change. Sisitzky said it’s just too early to measure what their impact could be.
